At Meltio, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing R&D Hardware team.

We are a young and fast-growing company on a mission to take metal 3D printing to the next level by developing high-performance, affordable, and easy-to-use metal additive manufacturing solutions.

 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to assist in the development of our Metal 3D Printers. Previous experience in the design of machine tools, manufacturing systems, or factory automation is highly appreciated, as well as knowledge of CNC technology, 3D printing, and electro-mechanical systems (e.g., servo motors, encoders).

Experience with complex assemblies in CAD and a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles are essential.

You will work on projects from conception through design, prototyping, validation, and into production, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the company.

Main responsibilities:

You will work with Meltio teams and component suppliers to:

  • Develop and optimize designs in 3D CAD software (preferably Autodesk Inventor) and associated CAE tools
  • Validate designs for manufacturing, assembly, and service feasibility
  • Complete and release component designs and documentation, including 2D drawings
  • Validate components against engineering requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with engineering, firmware, supply chain, production, and service teams
  • Participate in sourcing and manage technical supplier communication
  • Deliver work according to defined project schedules

 

You will be a great fit for the Meltio team if you are/have:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with specialization or experience on design (essential).
  • +3 years of experience, specifically in design.
  • Are proficient in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Have experience in machine tool design or factory automation equipment.
  • Have experience designing and validating components and assemblies.
  • Have worked with hardware adjacent to machine tools (bearings, motors, sensors, etc.).
  • Have completed a mechatronics project such as a CNC machine or 3D printer.
  • Are eager to learn about welding technologies and their role in additive manufacturing.
  • Possess strong technical and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Have at least Upper-Intermediate English (Advanced is a plus).
  • Are available to work on-site in Linares from Monday to Friday.
