HIGHER EDUCATION >
Industry Overview
Currently higher education requires new ways of teaching people for different manufacturing processes. Up to now manufacturing means subtractive methodologies that are applied to produce a new product, this is the way how people were taught in higher education centers.
Industry 4.0 is changing the paradigm and it is opening many ways to create new products so that is the reason why these institutions need to change their mindset in terms of manufacturing.
Industry Challenge
The industry requires first of all a flexible machine able to print any type of material with the minimum investment, minimum maintenance and easy to use in order to provide a good machine with a good frame for the scholarships.
The merged of new technologies together with a flexible additive manufacturing machine makes it possible to test an infinity of materials, in different formats (powder and wire), creating or trying geometries that just a few years ago did not even exist in our imagination.
SOLUTION (Proposed by meltio)
Minimum facilities are required – for high schools or locations where they have small facilities, Meltio offers the M450 where it can be applied the technology of additive manufacturing with wire or powder.
No size limitations – for universities or locations with big facilities for making big parts Meltio offers the Meltio Engine – able to print connected to a robot.
Hybrid manufacturing – Can be a very good complementary application for these specific frames for machining where normally machining is a subtractive method and in that case can be combined with additive technologies thanks to the Meltio Engine.
